XIV International Suzuki Orchestra Workshop "Szarlota 2018"

"Szarlota" Leisure Centre (1 hour drive from Gdańsk) 22 – 28.07.2018

          We would like to warmly invite Suzuki students playing violin, viola and cello to our International Suzuki Orchestra Workshop!

The workshop is addressed to violin and cello students of book 4 onwards and viola students from book 6 onwards.

Older participants are welcome to arrive to the workshop in a group under the care of one parent / guardian.

At the February 2017 we will also open applications for participants below book 4 – number of places is limited. Application for younger siblings of orchestra workshop participants will be filled out together with the application of the orchestra participant.

A group of fantastic teachers from Europe have accepted invitation to come and teach at the workshop – we expect it to be a unique week full of inspiration!

Please note that number of places and accommodation space is limited. Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. In case of places being full, you will be informed by e-mail and asked if you would like to be put on the waiting list.

Please note that the e-mail that you receive right after filling out the application form is the only confirmation that your application has been accepted (this information appears on your screen right after you fill out the online application form).

 ​1. Workshop schedule according to price groups:

Group I (book 1, piece 2-12)

– 2 group lessons
– 1 rhythmic class
– 1 dance class

Group II (book 1, piece 13 until end of book 3)

– 2 group lessons
– 1 dance class
– 1 music reading class
– optional: max. 1 individual lesson (for book 1, piece 13 - 17 to book 2 piece 5) during the workshop, 20 min. each

– optional: max. 2 individual lessons (for book 2, from piece 6 to the end of book 3) during the workshop, 20 min. each

Group III (book 4 onwards)

– intense orchestra programme including tutti and sectional rehearsals (sheet music will be sent out by e-mail latest in May 2017)
– daily chamber music and / or group lessons (according to level)
– optional: max. 2 individual lessons during the workshop, 30 min. each, or (from book 8) max. 2 master class lessons during the workshop, 45 min. each.

2. Additional information:

– Final concert in Gdańsk will be held on Saturday 28.07.2018 around 1pm.
– The workshop is open for students who are studying with licensed Suzuki teachers
– The closing date for submissions of application forms is the 15th of March 2018
– Workshop registration starts at the workshop venue “Szarlota” near Kościerzyna (1 hour drive from Gdańsk) on the 22.07 at 3pm and will be open until 8pm. Full classes start on Monday morning.
– Final concert dress code is black or black and white.
– We ask participants playing in orchestras and chamber music groups to bring their own music stands.
